About the role ac.care is seeking a Regional Manager Foster Care Services to provide supervision to home based care staff and take primary responsibility for the delivery of the Foster Care services provided by the relevant team, including contract compliance, program performance and continuous quality improvement. As part of this role you will:
  • In conjunction with the Manager and other relevant people, contribute to the successful development and implementation of the research, development and continuous improvement of the Foster Care program
  • In conjunction with the Manager, be actively involved in identifying deficits in the service system and assisting in strategies to address them
  • Participate in appropriate regional area state-wide and other forums to promote ac.care (specifically Foster Care) and contribute to policy development
  • Ensure that intake, case allocation, review and backup processes and systems are in place to maintain a high level of responsiveness and a quality service
  • Ensure that the Intake system is working effectively; that referrals are responded to in a timely manner and that appropriate placements are made utilizing the ac.care matching process
  • Ensure that the appropriate staff attend and participate in relevant Care Team Meetings, Care and Placement Planning meetings and TAC meetings when required
  • Ensure that assessments and reports are accurate, of a high standard and provided in a reasonable time frame
  • Ensure that systems and processes are in place for appropriate monitoring of clients identified as “high risk or complexity”, including overseeing the development of “crisis management plans” where appropriate
  • In accordance with ac.care policy and DCP requirements, co-ordinate the appropriate response and ensure appropriate follow up of serious incidents for staff, carers and clients

  Qualifications, Experience and Attributes:
  • A degree in an appropriate human services discipline (eg Social Work, Child Development, Human Services, Social Sciences, Psychology) or substantial progress achieved towards completion of this qualification
  • Knowledge of child development, attachment theory and the impact of trauma on children
  • Leadership and / or management experience
  • Understanding of supervision and its role in human services and ability to provide this to staff
  • Experience working in family and community services
  • Experience engaging and working collaboratively with stakeholders
  • Understanding and knowledge of best practice interventions, theories and strategies when working with families including therapeutic approaches
  • Experience working with families with multi-faceted and complex situations
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation including child protection and family law
  • Willingness to review procedures and work practices to fulfill contractual and organizational requirements
  • Initiative, reliability and motivation with the ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines while maintaining high professional standards
  • Understanding of Work Health and Safety and Equal Opportunity Legislation

About the role ac.care is seeking a Team Leader Residential Care Services to work collaboratively as a team leader to provide direction and support to rostered staff working in a community-based emergency accommodation house for children/young people and to ensure the quality of care, rights and safety of children and young people are protected within duty of care requirements while longer-term care arrangements are developed. About the role ac.care is seeking a Case Worker Foster Care Services to work collaboratively as a team member within the organisation to deliver services to over 160 foster care households and 200 children in placements across the Adelaide Hills, Limestone Coast, Murraylands and Riverland. The Case Worker Foster Care Services supports Foster Carers through regular home visits, phone and email contact to engage Carers to support their role as providers of care that has a strong child focus lens. The role will promote the positive development of children and young people ensuring their needs are met. The role will support the collaborative functioning of the care team around children and young people and ensure the foster care environment is safe. As part of this you will:
  • Engage with community stakeholders including service providers, community groups and businesses to identify community needs and collaborate in the delivery of activities and programs.
  • Design, develop and deliver activities and programs to small groups.
  • Lead a team of volunteers, maximising effective use of their skills and experience, and providing appropriate recognition of the contribution they make with disabilities, people from culturally diverse backgrounds and people who identify as LGBTIQ+.
  • Undertake activity and program evaluation, utilising the voice of participants, listening to consumers, and the communities in which they live to inform service delivery continous improvement.
  • Collect data and prepare timely reports in response to identified priority local needs ensuring operational activity and program outcomes are achived.
  • Establish and report on an annual action plan in conjunction with Community partners.
  • Develop connections and engage regularly with local Community Connections Program (CCP) Partners, Regional Co-ordinating Partners and other Department of Human Services (DHS) funded programs, which may include Safer family Services and the Financial Wellbeing Program.
  • Assist Manager with planning and co-ordination of program activities.
  • Identify and contribute to program/service delivery performance outcomes.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of frameworks, policies, procedures and other resources to achieve outcomes.
  • Manage risk in accordance with ac.care policies and procedures and Legislative requirements.
  • Work effectively with the Manager and other members as part of 'one ac.care team'.
  • Work collaboratively, developing respectful and compassionate relationships with internal and external stakeholders to deliver high quality outcomes e.g. Department for Child Protection, birth parents, carer household, professionals and/or other carers or significant community people.

  • Current SA driver’s licence - P2 Provisional or Full ‘Class C’ or interstate equivalent.
  • Current Satisfactory Working with Children Check (WWCC) or willingness to obtain in accordance with ac.care policy.
  • Current National Police Check or willingness to obtain in accordance with ac.care policy.
  • Child Safe Environment Certificate or willingness to obtain in accordance with ac.care policy.
  • Satisfactory completion of the statutory psychological suitability assessment (PSA). For further information visit www.psychcheck.com.au/services/psychological-suitability-screening.
  • Satisfactory completion of Trauma Responsive Practice in Education online
  • Current ‘Provide First Aid’ certificate or willingness to obtain in accordance with ac.care policy.
Qualifications, Experience and Attributes:
  • Meet the Department of Child Protection qualification requirements or be willing to complete the Certificate IV in Child, Youth & Family Intervention within 12 months of commencing employment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a model of trauma informed intentional practice.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the effects of trauma and abuse, attachment issues and the ability to provide individualised trauma responsive care.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Highly developed skills in negotiation and liaison using conflict resolution, mediation and advocacy skills.
  • High developed communication skills (listening, verbal and written), including the ability to establish rapport and maintain a positive relationship with clients and other service providers.
  • Ability to understand how personal experiences shape values, beliefs and responses to children families and colleagues.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify report and implement Work Health and Safety procedures and initiatives for personal safety and the safety of others.
  • Experience in working with Aboriginal people, their families, and their communities.
  • Demonstrated use of self-reflective practices to identify and manage own emotional responses to staff and families being supported.
