$150,000 + super – Full-time, ongoing role 

About the role

ac.care is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to work collaboratively as a team member to manage support services to over 250 employees across the Adelaide Hills, Limestone Coast, Murraylands and Riverland. The The Financial Controller role will drive financial organisational performance through effective strategic planning, continuous improvement, financial management and inspirational leadership. As part of this you will:

  • Lead and monitor the finance team, driving performance, provide mentoring and identify development opportunities.
  • Support the Board, CEO and Strategic Leadership Team in the execution of their responsibilities through the reporting and provision of relevant data, information and advice on key strategies, trends, and issues to ensure a best practice approach.
  • Responsible for strategic collaboration with stakeholders to develop, monitor, and assess financial and budget performance.
  • Lead the refinement and continuous evaluation of financial systems, policies and processes,
  • Deliver insightful business insights through innovative forecasting, business cases, and financial analysis to CEO, Board and Senior Leadership Team.
  • Lead the development and execution of financial budgets
  • Monitor and report on industry trends and practises and undertake regular benchmarking analysis.
  • Ensure statutory compliance, conducting financial reviews and variance anaysis for trend identification and cost optimisation.
  • Design and undertake financial data analysis to provide actionable insights and recommendations for optimising operational efficiency and financial performance.

Qualifications, Experience and Attributes:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or accounting or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of demonstrated experience working as a senior financial manager
  • Minimum 5 years of demonstrated experience managing and leading cohesive and dynamic teams.
  • CPA or CA qualified with a strong understanding of AASB accounting standards
  • Experience developing and executing financial budgets across multiple entities and departments.
  • Extensive experience in working aross multi-disciplined services and units to create cultural and applied change.
  • High level oral and written communication, negotiation and conflict resolutions skills and experience in providing expert advice to multiple stakeholders including senior leadership team and Board.
  • Extensive experience in leading internal audits and investgations and the preparation of detailed and complex reports and briefs.
  • Exposure and experience in developing strong collaborative relationships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Extensive demonstrated experience in building collaboration, design, implementation of finance processes, systems, policies and procedures for continuous improvement.
  • Expertise across technical, compliance, commercial, and strategy.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Advanced proficiency in financial analysis tools, accounting software, Microsoft Excel and Power BI (or similar)
