 Mount Gambier: Family Relationship Centre I Client Service Officer

Full Time, Part Time

About the role

ac.care is seeking an experienced Client Services Officer to provide excellent outcomes to country people requiring ac.care’s services and working collaboratively as a team member to deliver a comprehensive range of information, referral and support services. The role is responsible for the effective administration of the site reception area including the management of room bookings, processing referrals and coordinating an effective client focused response.

As part of this you will:

  • Work collaboratively, developing respectful and compassionate relationships with internal and external stakeholders to deliver high quality outcomes.
  • Assist in the implementation and delivery of a range of client centred activities and processes in consultation with the line manager.
  • Greeting every person with warmth, ascertaining their needs and navigating them to the best outcome through the provision of information, resources and referral.
  • Promote empathetic resolution of client grievances e.g. complaints using conflict resolution, mediation and advocacy skills when required.
  • Assist in the review and implementation of frameworks, policies, guidelines and other resources that deliver business outcomes for ac.care.
  • Keep accurate and appropriate documentation and statistical data in accordance with organisation, program and funding body requirements and timelines.
  • Participate in the evaluation, monitoring and reporting of services to determine their effectiveness and contribute to identifying strategies to address any deficits.
  • Identify, review and update processes and systems to reflect lean and best practice principles and opportunities for integrated service delivery within the relevant work area.
  • Promote and contribute to an environment of continuous learning and improvement through coaching and mentoring to other staff as required.

Qualifications, Experience and Attributes:

  • Formal qualifications and/or demonstrated experience in customer service or business administration.
  • Relevant experience working in client services and/or similar role.
  • Negotiation, conflict resolution, mediation and advocacy skills, combined with the ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Great oral and written communication skills and excellent facilitation skills applying confidentiality, professionalism and discretion.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with a range of different stakeholders.
  • Solution-focused, resilient, with strong time management and organisational skills
  • Experience in working within a cross functional environment (multiple service delivery programs at one site) to achieve client focused outcomes, and organisational strategic objectives.
  • Ability to use a range of software data management systems, including MS Office suite.

Mount Gambier : Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner I Family Services

ac.care is seeking two (2) experienced and qualified Family Dispute Resolution Practitioners (FDRP) to work collaboratively as a team member to deliver services to Families experiencing the stress of separation and/ or divorced. Experience in property and financial matters will be highly regarded and support for an experienced FDRP to up-skill in providing support in the resolution of financial and property matters will also be considered,  The FDRPs will work closely with the Child Consultant to deliver a child-focussed approach to the mediation of sustainable action plans and agreements. As part of this you will:

  • Work collaboratively, developing respectful and compassionate relationships with internal and external stakeholders to deliver high quality outcomes.
  • Support clients through the provision of outreach appointments, referrals, advocacy, and information sharing with key service providers within the local community.
  • Apply a case work service which is client centred, respectful, tailored and appropriate to the individual’s circumstances and cultural needs e.g. develop and implement viable action plans and strategies to address dispute resolution issues for immediate and longer term action
  • Provide support and assistance to community based initiatives and programs that enhance clients’ practical living and conflict resolution skills.
  • Participate in the evaluation, monitoring and reporting of program activities to determine their effectiveness and contribute to identifying strategies to address any deficits.
  • Prepare communications and reports for line management as required and keep accurate and appropriate documentation (case notes) and statistical data in accordance with program and funding body requirements.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of frameworks, policies, procedures and other resources to deliver quality dispute resolution programs.

Your Qualifications, Experience and Attributes:

  • A degree in social work, psychology, law or a related discipline. OR
  • A relevant diploma level qualification or Certificate IV in a relevant discipline accompanied by significant experience gained through previous appointments.
  • Project/Case management success including evaluation, and continuous improvement with the ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Knowledge of the issues associated with dispute resolution in a family context, mediation and children, financial and property matters homelessness.
  • A working knowledge of the Family Law Act 1975.
  • Great oral and written communication skills and excellent facilitation skills applying confidentiality, professionalism and discretion
  • Solution-focused, resilient, with strong time management and organisational skills
  • High attention to detail, good research, analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to use a range of software data management systems, including MS Office suite.

ac.care is seeking Therapeutic support workers to work collaboratively in small teams to deliver a 24 hour service to young people who have been placed under Guardianship of the Chief Executive. The role focuses on positive development of children and young people, ensuring their needs are met through building healthy, supportive relationships and role-modelling appropriate behaviour within professional boundaries.

As part of this you will:

  • Contribute to the provision of direct care to children and young people by maintaining a high level of care, safety and supervision for young people in our care.
  • Have a passion for making a difference in the lives of children and young people and be eager to learn the latest techniques in therapeutic care.
  • Contribute to development of young people through Therapeutic Crisis Intervention principles and trauma-informed intentional practices.
  • Apply a client focused service which is tailored and appropriate to the young person’s circumstances and needs.
  • Work collaboratively, developing respectful and compassionate relationships with internal and external stakeholders to deliver high-quality outcomes.
  • Prepare communications and reports for line management as required and keep accurate and appropriate documentation in accordance with program and funding body requirements.
  • Participate in the evaluation, monitoring and reporting of program activities to determine their effectiveness and contribute to identifying strategies to address any deficits.
  • Work collaboratively as a team member on a 24/7 shift with day, afternoon and active and passive (sleeping) night shifts.
  • Be available to work a minimum of three (3) shifts per week.

 Job criteria prior to commencement:

  • Over 21 years of age.
  • Have a right to live and work in Australia.
  • Valid Working With Children Check (WWCC) or willingness to obtain in accordance with ac.care policy.
  • Current SA driver’s licence ‘Class C’ or interstate equivalent.

  • Satisfactory completion of Strategies for Managing Abuse Related Trauma (SMART) Training.
  • Current ‘Provide First Aid’ certificate or willingness to obtain in accordance with ac.care policy.

Qualifications, Experience and Attributes:

  • Minimum Certificate IV in Child, Youth & Family Intervention.
  • Knowledge of the effects of trauma and abuse, attachment issues and behaviour management in relation to children in care.
  • Ability to understand how personal experiences shape values, beliefs and responses to children, families and colleagues.
  • Demonstrated understanding of confidentiality and privacy, including principles around sharing information about children and families.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Ability to remain child-focused and respond rather than react when young people are in crises.
  • Ability to engage in reflective practice individually and collectively with your work team.
  • Great oral and written communication skills, professionalism and excellent facilitation skills.
  • Ability to use a range of software data management systems, including MS Office suite.

 Benefits:

  • $33-36 per hr plus shift loadings.
  • Part Time and/or Casual.

  • care fleet vehicles provided for transporting clients.
  • Training to work within a therapeutic model of care incorporating Therapeutic Crisis Intervention and trauma-informed, intentional, client-centred practice.
  • Development, coaching and mentoring through regular practice forums with a clinical psychologist, line manager and other experienced staff to learn new techniques to therapeutically respond to individuals with complex needs.
  • Staff to client ratios are based on individual client needs (usually 2 staff/4 clients).
